If you’re someone looking to make money online, chances are you don’t know where to start. Which is probably the reason why you’re checking out some training programs like Affilorama. Then again, anyone’s first reaction to programs like this would be to do some research to find out if it’s a scam. If so you’ve come to the right place !
What is Affilorama
To sum things up Affilorama provides training about making money as an affiliate, and I know Mark Ling himself is a successful affiliate marketer. There are several products here that you can buy, like different tools or training. I will say it now that Affilorama is definitely not a scam and you actually will get something out of it.
What products does Affilorama offer?
- Access to basic training videos
- Access to member’s forum
- AffiloTools, which is like a analysis tool for your website
For a beginner, I would recommend going for the free membership, not just because it’s free. There are some good training videos for you like PPC or Market Research training. Also, you get access to AffiloTools which can be used to research your site’s traffic.
However I do have some disagreements with some of their training. One of them being a video about choosing your niche. They tell you that you can’t just choose a niche that you like, because it might not be profitable. In my opinion all niches are profitable, you just have to think outside the box sometimes. Also I really doubt that there are niches out there with no affiliate programs.
One of my fellow members at Wealthy Affiliate gave a really good example, he talked about being able to promote carpet cleaners even if he chose a dog niche. You just have to relate the 2 with a little creativity like writing a post about the mess that dogs can make and how to clean it up.
Premium Membership ( $67 per Month)
- More advanced training videos
- Free website hosting
- Product creation training
- Premium Tools
- Blog Bootcamp ( Warning )
- 30 PLR articles ( Warning )
In my opinion, if you were to choose to spend your money on any Affilorama products, this would be the one. You will have access to alot more training videos, some which are pretty advanced. If you sign up within 7 days you only need to pay $1 for the first month so you can give it a try.
There are some problems though with premium, some of their training is outdated so you have to be careful.
One of the 4 lessons in Blog Bootcamp teaches you about getting backlinks to your website. If you read my Black Hat SEO post, you would know that backlinks do not work as they used to anymore since the Google Panda and Penguin updates. Ever since this update Google has been punishing those who focus excessively on backlinks and doing so will actually drop your rankings.
The PLR or Private Label Rights articles. PLR is a form of license in which if that license is sold, the buyer would have almost all of the rights to that product. In the case of PLR articles, the buyer would be able to modify the article to suite his own needs. Now the problem with these articles is that you can get into alot of plagiarism trouble, and we all know duplicate content is another bad SEO practice. So again, if you plan on using these articles chances are you will lose rankings.
AffiloBlueprint (One time purchase of $197)
- A very detailed, step by step course on affiliate marketing
- You get AffiloTheme, which is a custom made WordPress theme for free
- One year free website hosting
- One month premium membership for free
AffiloBlueprint is very similar to the premium membership in my opinion. Although it is a one time payment, so it really is up to you to decide which one to go for. I want to point out that this training is extremely detailed, it includes homework for you to carry out as well. In my opinion this training will suite a beginner because it takes you through each step needed to start being an affiliate marketer. It is litterally holding your hand the whole way.
My only complain is that AffiloBlueprint is like buying a series of training videos, but you won’t be getting any support. If you do want some support you will have to pay for the premium membership after your free 1st month expires. Which is also why I recommend premium instead. Although if you just want the education, this may be the better choice because it is a one time payment.
AffiloJetpack (One time purchase of $997)
- One year free website hosting
- You get AffiloTheme with this as well
- 90 email newsletters ( Component 1)
- 3 Free reports, sort of like a gift for when a visitor gives you his/her email (Component 2)
- Easy website (Component 3)
- Content cheat sheats (Component 4)
This is a like a “do it for you” kind of product. The selling point of AffiloJetpack is that alot of the research is done for you. Website creation can be done in just a few clicks and your emails will be written for you and will be automatically sent to your mailing list. This is meant for those who want an almost automated process.
Why don’t I like this?
Mainly because automatically generated content won’t be that effective compared to if you create the content yourself. I get that this is for those who only want to spend a small amount of time, but in my opinion, there is no shortcut to affiliate marketing. More so if you are a beginner and you get these automated stuff generated for you, would you even have a clue about what you’re doing?
The Pros and Cons of Affilorama
- Good quality training
- Beginner friendly
- Free membership which gives you access to some quality training as well
- Alot of products to choose from, some with overlapping benefits
- Training that gives outdated information
- More often than not, the support team handles your questions and not Mark himself
At the end of the day, Affilorama is a good and honest product. The training is of good quality and will work if you put in the hard work. Although there are some issues here and there which makes some of it outdated. Nevertheless I think the free membership is worth signing up for first, then you can take it from there. However, I would still suggest Wealthy Affiliate because it has a very active community and a cheaper membership.
Don’t take my opinion for it though, both Affilorama and Wealthy Affiliate offers free membership, you should try both out if you’re serious about making money online because you know yourself better than I do. You can decide which is for you after giving both a try. I strongly believe whichever path you take, if you don’t give up one day you will succeed.
