Store Coach Review – Is Store Coach The Best eCommerce Training Program?

By | September 6, 2017

Store Coach

Building an online store seems to be the hot topic nowadays since a lot of people are finding success with this system.

Have you ever thought about building your own ecommerce store?

The idea does sound very appealing but there’s one problem – How do you do it?

Well I’ve got good news for you.

The program that I’m about to review, Store Coach will suite you perfectly and the best part is that you can access their training for free !

Anyway, let’s get right down to business.

What Is Store Coach?

Store Coach is an ecommerce training program that focuses more on the drip shipping store model approach. With that said they do provide information on other store models as well.

Store Coach was founded by Dave Hermansen and his brothers, Kevin and Mike.

Store Coach also provides a variety of tools and services that can help you in setting up your very own online store. Some of them are included in the memberships but some are separate services.

The best part about Store Coach is that you can join it for free and still get value out of it.

If you’re interested, you can check out their website at : Store Coach.

What do you get with the free membership at Store Coach?

Well for starters, the free membership will already give you access to most of the training available at Store Coach. This is actually a big thing in my opinion since a lot of programs out there are charging quite a huge sum just for their training.

However, the training at Store Coach is mostly text based but this doesn’t make it any worse than a video training.

I’ve personally read through the training and I’ll be honest here, I’ve learned a lot. The training is comprehensive and goes into a lot of minor details about starting your own ecommerce business.

What kind of training do you get with Store Coach?

Store Coach splits the entire process in to 4 phases.

  • Phase 1 – Planning

The planning stage touches on what you should do BEFORE starting your store.

The first chapter of this training is about choosing your niche. A niche is sort of like a very specific topic, for example animal jewelry could be a niche.

They will talk about the different factors for choosing a niche, like profitability, demand or seasonality.

Next, Store Coach will run you through the different store models out there.

Store Coach Supply Chain

Once that’s done they teach you how to source your products from suppliers. They talk about things like how to choose your suppliers and how to contact them to get their permission to sell their products.

They even offer advice and alternatives in the cases where your supplier is willing to let you be their re-seller but will not let you drop ship.

  • Phase 2 – Build Out

This part of the training talks about actually building your online store.

Store Coach will walk you through the process of getting your own domain name, as well as shopping cart services.

You also get taught about setting up payment services and listing your products for your store.

The training will go into the details about adding product descriptions, site navigation bars and optimizing your site for a good user experience and Google ( to help you rank on Google ).

After that you’ll be setting product prices and setting up your sales taxes.

I didn’t even know you had to pay taxes for an ecommerce store up till this point!

After you launch your site the training will focus on integrating your site with tools like Google analytics and autoresponders ( for email marketing ).

  • Phase 3 – Marketing

Now that you have your store up and running, the next thing you’ll need is visitors ( or traffic as we call it ).

They will talk about 3 different kinds of traffic in this training, free, paid and direct traffic. Again, they will go into detail and talk about what kind of traffic you should use during each month after you’ve set up your website.

They also explain in depth about each traffic method, with each of them taking up an entire chapter on their own.

  • Phase 4 – Operations

The last phase is about your daily store managements.

They first talk about maximizing conversion rates for your stores and the different techniques you can use to do this like A/B split testing.

There is also training about the possibility of outsourcing certain workloads related to your store. This is pretty important in my opinion since at some point you will be making a lot of money and time will become a more valuable resource for you.

Lastly, they will give you some insights on selling your store. This is entirely up to you and they’re just bringing up the possibility for your knowledge.

If you are planning to sell, the training does talk about the different factors that influence your store’s value as well as finding a broker.

With that much in the free membership, what’s included in the pro membership then?

For a price of $49 per month you get the chance to become a pro member at Store Coach.

You will have access to live workshops and more advanced training.

There is also a 1-on-1 coaching session with one of their coaches.

The best part about going pro is definitely the tools like Niche Finder Pro. These tools are directly referenced in the free training and will make your life easier if you have access to them.

How do you make money with Store Coach?

The main way you can make money with Store Coach is by using a model called drop shipping.

What is drop shipping?

The way drop shipping works is that you set up your ecommerce store and you load it up with the products from your suppliers. Do note that at this point you are just putting up the products on the store, you have not actually bought anything yet.

Then, someone comes along and makes a purchase from your store.

This is the time where you contact your suppliers. You buy the product from them and have them ship it directly to your customer.

You will be paying a lower price to the suppliers than what your customer pays you and this is how you profit.

Why drop shipping with Store Coach?

The biggest advantage is that you don’t have to manage an inventory.

You also don’t need to buy your items in bulk and you can sell them one at a time. You don’t have to worry about the idea that your product won’t sell.

Another advantage of drop shipping is that you don’t have to ship the product, the suppliers will do it for you.

The Pros of Store Coach

  • Step by step training for complete beginners
  • Free membership
  • Provides a lot of useful tools for pro members
  • Pro members get access to their supplier directory
  • Focused on drop shipping but the training can be applied to other online businesses as well

The Cons of Store Coach

  • More geared towards opening stores in specific countries ( keyword tool only analyze Google US, UK and Australia)
  • Might be a bit of a set back when the free training talks about the use of pro tools if you’re a free member
  • No video training ( may or may not be a problem though, it depends on what you like )

What additional features of services do Store Coach have?

Store coach has a wide range of services you can try out like SEO services or their site review service.

One of the coolest things I’ve found is that they also provide a platform for you to buy or sell websites. You can find sites earning thousands of dollars here if you’re interested.

They also have a blogging service where you can pay to have their team of writers write some blog posts for your site.

Again, just a reminder that these aren’t part of the membership and are additional services that you can use at Store Coach.

Can you really make money with Store Coach and do you need to go pro?

As you can see you’ll definitely be able to make money if you follow the training at Store Coach. Their advice and teachings are practical and you will see success.

The thing is, drop shipping has been around for quite some time and it is in my opinion a very good way for beginners to start an ecommerce business because of the low startup costs.

If you’re wondering about going pro, I will admit that it will make your life easier but it is possible to manage with just the free membership. You just have to work harder.

For example, as a free member you won’t be getting access to their supplier directory but you can search for your own suppliers. This may take longer so it is up to you to balance out your time and money to decide if you want to get the pro membership.

Well, this is the end of my review and if ecommerce is what you’re really interested in do check out the free training at Store Coach.

Wow! What an eye opening article you just shared with us. I have been on a couple of webinars about drop shipping as it really intrigued me but the Costs they were quoting were not anything I felt comfortable with AND you had to buy your products in bulk and then upload to Amazon or any other you would be selling from. This seems so doable and something worth looking into. Thank you again.

Haha, I think you’re confused about the course that you’ve attended because that sounds like the Amazon FBA program where you buy in bulk and list your products on Amazon. Drop-shipping is a bit different because you only buy when you have confirmed a sale.

With that said though you don’t get the benefits of selling on Amazon, so that’s a bummer !
